About International Professional Technologist Programme – Automation

This International Professional Technologist Programme in Automation is designed to equip learners with advanced technical knowledge and practical skills essential for today’s dynamic industrial landscape. Participants will gain hands-on experience in core areas such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), industrial robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), cyber-physical systems, and advanced pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Combining rigorous theoretical instruction with real-world application, the programme empowers students to design, integrate, and manage intelligent automation systems across a wide range of industrial environments. Special emphasis is placed on system integration, data visualization, and the interconnectivity of machines, in alignment with Industry 4.0 principles.

Graduates of this programme will develop technologist-level competencies, bridging the gap between engineering concepts and practical implementation. They will be well-prepared for careers in system integration, industrial automation, smart manufacturing operations, and technology management, both in domestic and international contexts.

The programme is offered in collaboration with the ITE Education Services (ITEES), Singapore, having 9 months of residential training at the NAMTECH Campus and 3 months of on-the-job training.

  1. Apply foundational knowledge of Industry 4.0, robotics, IIoT, and cyber-physical systems in industrial settings.
  2. Design and troubleshoot basic hydraulic and pneumatic systems for automation applications.
  3. Work effectively in team-based project environments and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  4. Demonstrate ethical responsibility and an understanding of safety, sustainability, and industrial standards.
  5. Use modern tools and digital technologies effectively for automation, simulation, and system control.
  6. Document project work, perform technical reporting, and present findings clearly using industry-standard formats.
  7. Develop, programme, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems for industrial applications, integrating sensors, actuators, and control logic.

Student must be an ITI (2 Years – Engineering Trades) / Diploma (3 Years) passout (2022 or later) with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA and completed 10th with minimum 50% marks from recognised Board.
