The Experiential Learning Centre for Sustainable Energy and Circularity (CSEC) is a joint initiative of NTPC, IIT Roorkee, and NAMTECH established to advance sustainable manufacturing, energy transition, circularity and workforce transformation.

By combining IIT Roorkee’s research excellence with NAMTECH’s industry-integrated learning ecosystem, and NTPC’s commitment to advance sustainable energy solutions the Centre aims to create a national model that connects translational research, talent development and technology deployment.

To become India's leading centre for sustainable energy, circularity and workforce transformation by integrating research, industry and education.

The Centre seeks to accelerate sustainable technology adoption, strengthen industrial competitiveness, develop future-ready talent and contribute to India's transition towards a low-carbon, resource-efficient economy.

Launch of the Centre

The Experiential Learning Centre for Sustainable Energy and Circularity was inaugurated on 8 June 2026, at NAMTECH’s current campus in Gandhinagar by Dr. Ibrahim Hafeezur Rehman, Director General & CEO, NAMTECH, and Dr. K.K. Pant, Director, IIT Roorkee, in the presence of Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Vice President – Business Development, ArcelorMittal and Board Member, NAMTECH, the IIT Roorkee delegation and the NAMTECH leadership team.

The Centre is built around three strategic pillars.

1. Capacity Building

Developing future-ready talent through academic programs, executive education, technical skilling and faculty development.

2. Experiential Learning Infrastructure

Establishing industry-grade laboratories and living labs for hands-on learning, applied research and technology demonstration.

3. Outreach and Ecosystem Engagement

Building strong collaborations with industry, academia, MSMEs and government to promote knowledge sharing and accelerate sustainable innovation.
