About the Program

Master in Technology & Management (Heavy Industry Engineering) is India’s first industry-embedded postgraduate program, developed jointly by NAMTECH and ArcelorMittal Design and Engineering Centre, the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) hub of the ArcelorMittal Group.

Designed for B.E./B.Tech. graduates, this two-year, full-time residential program prepares future engineers and leaders for careers in steel manufacturing, mining & mineral processing, port & infrastructure development, and digital engineering & automation.

The program blends rigorous academics with immersive industry experience:

  • Semesters 1 & 2: Foundation and specialization courses at NAMTECH, complemented by industry sessions and industry immersion at ArcelorMittal Design and Engineering Centre
  • Summer Internship: An assured 8-week internship at ArcelorMittal Design and Engineering Centre to identify and work on a research project
  • Semester 3: Advanced coursework integrated with guided research
  • Semester 4: A full-time, paid internship at ArcelorMittal Design and Engineering Centre, working on live industrial projects while completing the thesis

Students receive a monthly stipend of ₹30,000 during the final-semester internship at ArcelorMittal Design and Engineering Centre.

Every student receives a guaranteed internship at ArcelorMittal Design and Engineering Centre during Semester 4, along with a monthly stipend of ₹ 30,000, totaling to ₹1,80,000 over the period.

Three Specialization Tracks

Student can choose any four subjects from the three tracks: Metals and Mining Technology, Smart Capital Project Management, or AI and Digital Engineering in Plant Design. A common first semester ensures a strong technical and managerial foundation for all students.

Program Overview

The curriculum is systematically structured over four semesters, begins with a strong foundation in Semester 1 and progresses to advanced concepts in Semesters 2 and 3.

Upon completion of the first year, students will undergo a summer internship. The program culminates in a hands-on Capstone Project in industry during Semester 4. Throughout the program, meta-skills are intentionally taught and integrated to support holistic academic and professional growth.

B.E. / B.Tech Graduates

– Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score preferred

– Minimum 60% marks in 10th, 12th, and graduation. No active backlogs at time of application.

One-time Payments

    1. Admissions / Seat Blocking Fee: The candidate is required to pay ₹25,000/- as acceptance of the offer and to confirm admission within the stipulated time mentioned in the LOI, subject to the availability of seats in the application cycle.
    2. The amount of ₹25,000/- shall be adjusted against the Security Deposit (refundable).
    3. The refundable Security Deposit of ₹25,000/-, collected during seat blocking , will be refunded at the time of graduation from NAMTECH or adjusted against any outstanding dues of the student, or at the time of withdrawal from the program.

Scholarships

Scholarship of up to 50% on tuition fees are awarded based on academic performance, interview, and family income. Please note that seats are limited, and the final decision rests with the admissions & scholarships committee.

Admission Process

The first cohort begins in August 2026. The intake is limited to 20 students. The selection process will be jointly conducted by NAMTECH and ArcelorMittal Design and Engineering Centre.
