Reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, NAMTECH celebrated World Environment Day 2026 through a series of initiatives aimed at promoting awareness and inspiring action towards a greener future.
As part of the celebrations, students, faculty, and staff participated in a tree plantation drive at NAMTECH’s upcoming Ahmedabad campus, reinforcing the institution’s pledge to leave a positive environmental legacy for future generations.

The occasion also marked the launch of the NAMTECH World Environment Day Lecture Series 2026. The inaugural lecture was delivered by Shri Hiren Bhatt, Former Senior Scientist, Space Applications Centre (SAC), ISRO, on “Applications of Space Technology for Climate Change,” highlighting the role of space technologies in addressing environmental challenges and supporting sustainable development.
Further enriching the celebrations, Dr. Ibrahim Hafeezur Rehman, Director General, NAMTECH, conducted a special masterclass on Sustainability Engineering. The session, titled “Innovations, Challenges, and Global Opportunities in Sustainability Engineering,” provided students with insights into emerging sustainability trends, industry challenges, and evolving global career opportunities.
Through these initiatives, NAMTECH continues to foster sustainability awareness, encourage responsible innovation, and prepare future-ready professionals equipped to create meaningful environmental and social impact.
