NAMTECH and Mahindra & Mahindra have entered into a collaboration to provide students with greater industry exposure and experiential learning opportunities in automotive and manufacturing engineering. The collaboration was formalized at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV), Chennai, in the presence of Dr. Shankar Venugopal, Vice President and Dean, Mahindra Technical Academy.
As part of the collaboration, NAMTECH students will participate in the FLAME (Future Leaders in Automotive & Manufacturing Engineering) program, a structured technical and leadership development initiative that connects academic learning with industry practice.
The collaboration includes
- Participation in the FLAME training program
- Visits to Mahindra’s Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility at Chakan, Pune,
- Industry internships, and capstone projects
- Students will also work on Project Hopper, a portfolio of real-world industry challenges designed to provide practical experience in solving engineering problems.
The FLAME program is centered on two learning tracks
- Automotive & Manufacturing
- Innovation & Entrepreneurship
It also features technical talks, expert mentoring sessions, quizzes, competitions, and interactions with industry professionals, offering students opportunities to engage with current industry practices and emerging technologies.
The collaboration reflects a shared focus on strengthening industry-academia engagement and creating learning experiences that combine technical knowledge with practical application.
