Am I Eligible for the India MET Scholarship?

The India MET Scholarship is a merit-and-need based scholarship offered by NAMTECH to support deserving engineering graduates pursuing its master programs. Covering 50% to 75% of the tuition fee, it helps reduce the financial burden while enabling students to access industry-led education, hands-on learning, and strong career opportunities.

If you’re considering a master’s program at NAMTECH, the first question is simple: Am I eligible? This guide explains the eligibility criteria, the factors considered for scholarship evaluation, and how the final scholarship amount is determined.

The base eligibility

To be considered for the India MET Scholarship, you must:

• Hold a B.E. or B.Tech degree
• Have secured a minimum of 60% in Class 10, Class 12, and graduation
• Have no active backlogs at the time of application

The scholarship is intended for engineering graduates and is not applicable to candidates whose highest qualification is Class 12 or a diploma.

Applicants may also submit a valid GATE, GRE, GMAT, CAT, or XAT score to strengthen their application. While these entrance scores are accepted, they are not mandatory for admission.

Meeting these criteria makes you eligible to be considered for the scholarship. The final scholarship percentage is decided by the Admissions and Scholarship Committee based on a holistic assessment of academic performance, interview performance, and family income, and is communicated through the admission offer letter.

What moves you toward the higher end

The India MET Scholarship supports deserving students with tuition fees across NAMTECH’s master programs. Scholarship awards are determined based on the applicant’s profile and the Scholarship Committee’s evaluation.

Eligible categories include:

• Women candidates – Up to 75% tuition fee scholarship
• GATE-qualified candidates – Up to 75% tuition fee scholarship
• INI-qualified candidates (IITs, NITs, IIITs, IISERs and other Institutes of National Importance) – Up to 75% tuition fee scholarship
• Candidates from Northeast India, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir – Up to 75% tuition fee scholarship
• Merit-cum-Means applicants – 50% to 75% tuition fee scholarship based on eligibility and assessment

Scholarship awards are based on academic performance, interview, and the applicable eligibility criteria. Meeting the eligibility requirements does not automatically guarantee a scholarship, as the final decision rests with the Admissions & Scholarship Committee.

Applying, and financing the balance

Applications are submitted online through NAMTECH’s Admissions Portal. The application process includes:

• A completed application form
• Supporting academic documents
• A ₹1,000 application fee
• A valid entrance score (if available)

Shortlisted applicants are invited for a personal interview. Admission and scholarship decisions are based on the overall evaluation of the application, interview performance, academic record, and any entrance score submitted. Since both seats and scholarship allocations are limited, the committee’s decision is final.

For students who wish to finance the remaining tuition fee, NAMTECH has education loan arrangements with ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Credila, and EduAid. These loan options are available for eligible Indian students and are designed to help cover tuition fees, hostel charges, and living expenses.
