
Mr. Shirish Sankhe
Mr. Shirish Sankhe brings over 26 years of experience from McKinsey & Company, where he led large-scale transformations for companies across energy, metals and mining, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors in India and globally. He headed McKinsey’s Energy and Materials Practice in Asia and also led the firm’s Restructuring and Transformation practice.
His work extended beyond industry, contributing to India’s net zero transition, economic growth, and urbanisation agenda. He partnered with central and state governments on urban development and the creation of new cities, and collaborated with the McKinsey Global Institute for more than two decades on economic research.
Mr. Shirish Sankhe has authored several influential reports on India’s growth and sustainability. Key publications include “Decarbonising India: Charting a pathway for sustainable growth” (2022) and MGI’s “India’s Turning Point: An economic agenda to spur growth and jobs” (2020), which outlines actions to restore high economic growth and enable job creation for 90 million workers by 2030.
Since December 2022, Mr. Shirish Sankhe has been leading the ISEG Foundation (Institute for Sustainability, Employment and Growth), a non-profit organisation focused on job creation and India’s net zero transition.
