Sankata Tiwari is a researcher specialised in Additive manufacturing of metal and ceramics. He has submitted his Ph.D. thesis in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) (BHU) Varanasi, on Additive Manufacturing of Alumina using Direct ink writing and Fused filament fabrication. His research involves the development of advanced ceramic components using 3D printing techniques such as Direct Ink Writing (DIW), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), and stereolithography (SLA) techniques. His academic journey includes an M.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT (BHU), where he worked on the Hot corrosion behavior of INCONEL 718 superalloy for gas turbine blade applications, and a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from UPTU, Lucknow.
With over five years of research and development experience, he has developed a strong interdisciplinary foundation in mechanical design, material science, and manufacturing technologies. His research interest also includes the application of AI and image processing in defect prediction during AM processes, aligning with the principles of smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0.
His research has been published in reputed peer reviewed international journals like Ceramics International and he has presented his work at leading national and international conferences. Outside academia, he has interest in stay updated with recent developments in technology and global developments in the manufacturing techniques.
