Anubhav Mishra is a robotics researcher, product designer, and educator with expertise in mechatronic systems, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and parallel manipulators. He holds a dual degree in Master of Design and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. His Ph.D. research, supported by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), focuses on the design and control of a 2PRU-1PRS parallel manipulator for applications in space and transport. During his master’s, he developed a shape-morphing quadcopter drone equipped with a robotic gripper, which has been patented and is widely appreciated for its aerial manipulation capabilities.
Anubhav’s research is grounded in dynamics and control, combining CAD design, analytical modelling, MSC ADAMS simulation, and embedded hardware implementation to create fully functional robotic systems. His work covers a wide range of applications, from animatronic Stewart platforms for realistic head movement to vibration simulation platforms and foldable or hybrid UAVs.
He has taught as guest faculty at several institutes, including Feroze Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology in Raebareli, the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Patna, and the School of Aeronautics in Neemrana. His lectures have covered topics in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Aerodynamics. He has also contributed to online education through NPTEL, where he worked as a teaching assistant for courses on composite materials, finite element methods, and noise control, offered by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Alongside his academic work, Anubhav has been involved in consulting projects related to drone and robotics design. He has worked with companies such as Endure Air Pvt. Ltd., Ingen Technologies Pvt. Ltd., and Indespace Pvt. Ltd. His projects have included the development of hybrid UAVs, agricultural and surveillance drones, and assistive medical devices. He has also worked as a test pilot and system integrator for UAV platforms.
He has authored several journal articles and conference papers in the field of robotics and aerospace systems. His work has been published in the International Journal of Dynamics and Control and has been presented at international platforms such as ICSV, FMFP, and IEEE conferences. His innovations have resulted in five granted patents, covering areas such as UAV mechanisms, robotic grippers, and mobility aids for the visually impaired.
Anubhav is passionate about frugal innovation, STEM education, and interdisciplinary design. He regularly mentor students, serves as a jury member in competitions, and delivers invited lectures. His goal is to translate academic research into practical, deployable technologies in robotics and aerospace.
